KUALA TERENGGANU : Several oas computer senior officials from Terengganu oas computer s Public oas computer Works Department (PWD) are expected to be transferred out of the state or re-designated by the end of the year in a massive management shake-up. A number of its architects and technicians have received letters this month informing them of their transfers and re-designations. It is also learnt that a new Terengganu PWD director and deputy will be named early next year. A source told The Star that the restructuring exercise was undertaken due to a series of roof collapses and cave-ins of major roads reported in the state since the beginning of the year. He said the exercise would also affect lower ranked officers, who were expected to be re-designated to other sections, including various divisions at the department

s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The exercise is seen as a drastic and major reconstitution of the department, the source revealed.

An aide to a local assemblyman claimed to have been approached by a PWD technician who had appealed for his help to avoid being transferred. According to the aide, who requested anonymity, the technician had been in the state for more than a decade oas computer and felt inconvenienced at having to leave Terengganu. He said it was believed that some officers had been enjoying a posh lifestyle due to their alleged involvement in certain projects, which made it difficult for them to let go of such comforts. The Terengganu PWD has come under a barrage of criticism from several quarters, including Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said after the roof collapse incident at the iconic Sultan Mizan stadium in Gong Badak in June.
